Volume 182

Healing and self discovery

As curated by Arnold McCuller

Interventionist, Coach, Artist

In the 70’s I was in the first touring production of Hair. As a young black man from Cleveland, Ohio my life would never be the same.

My name is Arnold McCuller. I went on to perform and record with some of the greatest artists of all time. Even while touring and performing with people like James Taylor, Phil Collins, and Bonnie Raitt, it wasn’t enough to keep me clean. While on the road in the middle of a successful career, I hit a bottom and found recovery. I went on to continue working with some of these people, and many more as a person in recovery.

My life consisted of being in recovery and on the road. Learning how to balance those lifestyles and the complexities of being a black all-gender-loving man has given me a unique perspective on life. I learned through those many years how to help people who were similar to me and some who were not.

Through my journey documented on recovery.arnoldmcculler.com, it is clear that I am deeply committed to guiding individuals toward healing and self-discovery.

I recently finished a tune contracted for a corporation rate event with my composer friend Matt Cusson. I’m featured in a presentation of music for a new broadway musical called “Flash of Light.”
