A note to my future self that I wanted to share out loud, publicly.
For context, my only real goal in life (aside from being a great Father, Companion, Leader and life Student) is to always be chasing this better version of myself who is probably 5 years down the road. I dream about this fella who consistently gets better at everything, all the time, by being present, patient and willing; it’s what gets me ‘through.’ I occasionally write notes to myself as a reminder of where I am, currently. These notes will also someday serve as a simple way to look back at where I was:
It’s a full life.
Serene for fleeting moments
Mostly chaotic
Directionally sincere but no longer on the pitch I was trained to know
Securing a future by not thinking about the future
Alluding to greatness in my head
Will anyone ever know or am I just leading myself to the ledge
There is water glass everywhere
The ideas that were growing in my head are now physical
Accountability seems to be fleeting
Energy is thinning but we are also still winning
By holding our space and consistently reviewing our place
Not in line, but in time, not queueing, but reviewing
Wildly important to take stock of your sincerity
Can you lead with truth at all times no matter what the severity
I am doing too much but it all makes sense
Just keep going and don’t give a fuck what anyone else thinks
Reminder to you, you are succeeding
Because: It’s a full life.
What's been keeping you grounded?
WHAT I’M INTO LATELY
Everything, but mostly construction.
Getting the stuff out of my head that has been living in there for 6-9 months has been massively cathartic and wildly eye opening. Most recently, I got the building out of my head and made reality; can’t wait to show you all.
What are you into lately?
WHAT’s driving me forward
The thought of stability.
We’ve built something wonderful at Imperfects and I am working day and night to stabilize it for a future growth spurt, I want nothing more than for Imperfects to grow larger than me and carry itself onward with a fresh perspective, into perpetuity. We are getting there. Also, getting back to a rolling wall that I can paint on - we are building one now - stay tuned.
