Finding Todays Joy

What's keeping me grounded

Finding today's joy and gratitude despite whatever the challenge of the day is. I can be my own worst enemy in the sense that the devil is usually between my two ears. I've been an addict and alcoholic since I was a teenager and have struggled with depression for many years. I'm happy to share that both of these issues have been under control for a few years now but I am never fully free of them. What keeps me in harmony with myself and the world around me is staying grateful, finding laughter, and contributing to others' lives—not just my own.

I'm a marketer and a content creator based in Montreal, Canada.

Professionally, I work in tech marketing. On the side, I do content in sneakers, fashion and food. I'm just passionate about storytelling—whatever the subject or communication tool. I love engaging with people and seeing their eyes light up when you get to the juicy part of the story or drop some lingo they've never heard before. Getting people excited about something (and hopefully getting a laugh) brings me the most joy in life.

Telling fun stories through media and staying grateful.

It's also really important to me to not take myself or life too seriously. We're supposed to be living our lives, not sitting around wondering if we should do something, or analyzing something that's already happened to the nth degree. Get out there and be bad at something. I'm terrible at basketball but I still go to pick-up every Wednesday night! We learn more from struggles than we do from victories. And honestly, content creation is something I am very grateful for. It's a creative outlet for me and I find it quite therapeutic. Whether it’s sneakers, food, or covering a special event, it feels like I'm exhaling stress when I'm creating.

WHAT IM INTO LATELY

Since we definitely have 4 seasons up here in Canada I'm pumped to start enjoying some summer activities! If you've never been to Montreal in the summer, add it to your list. There is an electricity that comes over the city and its people in the spring and summer that is simply intoxicating. To be honest, I almost never do my traveling in the summer because Montreal is the place to be during those months! For real—there are 10+ different things you can do every day of the week and something for everyone.

I'm also big into softball and tennis so I'm excited that they are starting back up right now. Other than that I stay grinding the sneaker/fashion/food content daily on @sullivanryan on TikTok and IG.
