Where the Wolves Run

As Curated by Mike Lynch

Imperfects Founder, Artist, Craftsman, Underground Poet

While the trees dance or fight with the onshore or offshore winds, they provide shade and they produce clean air for us to grow on, righteous.

While the waves push us and the dolphins into the best feeling of perpetual motion, they also provide texture for the earth and signals from the deep, radical.

While the wolves howl at the full moon, we realize it's all inter-connected in the best of ways.

At our finest moments, we are most in tune with the nature happening around us. That doesn’t always have to mean we need to be out deep in the wilderness on a mountain top summiting the never before summited! It can also mean being present in your life in other ways and realizing that those simple, finer, mini-moments are just as extraordinary as the big journeys are - perhaps, even more important, folks. All those little things you do, or don’t do, add up to the whole. As I like to say, ‘One healthy decision always leads to another.’

Look, there is nothing new here - these are not ground-breaking words - my point is, we all need a reminder to get back on track and center that energy.

“THERE IS SPIRIT IN EVERYTHING.”

I don’t care who you are or where you come from, what religion you follow or don’t, you have a spirit and so does the world living around you. It's a simple but important reminder to breathe and be aware. I had to talk myself back into this perspective over the last few weeks because I was running out of poise and forgetting to admire the beauty surrounding me.

Here is a little focus on LIFE, just the good stuff.

The achievements we so desire tend to be locked up in and guarded by this facade that we and society, one-in-the same, produce.

For whatever reason, the system works but it also looms over our heads as if it owns us, most days.

If you don’t feel that or know what I am talking about, exit through the gift shop, please. If you do feel me, take a deep breath and feel the sun shine on your skin, you’re doing great. Here is your sign to wake up and live now - as our boy Bob M. so loved to say.

The difference between our spirit and the spirit of the wolves is minimal. The Human Experience is loaded with challenges and complexities and that really is what makes this whole thing fun. But the world doesn’t spin for us or because of us, it spins with us. Don’t forget that bit, Fam. We are a part of the organic organization that is the spirit ripping through this blue and green cylinder, and we need to remember that the best gifts we will ever receive are the moments that we can most presently be aware of and glean knowledge, energy and optimism from.

As we can count on the migration of the birds, so too, can we count on the nostalgia to teach us or better yet, remind us of the goodness we have experienced and why those moments were shape-shifting for us.

You ever feel like the best stuff that happens to you happened way too fast and it was so righteous when it was happening that you had no idea? Then weeks or months, sometimes even years later, you realize how great that was? Yea, chase that, chase that marrow.

Realize that when its all said and done, the tariffs, the parking tickets, the nay-sayers, the haters, the waves you ate shit on, the right side or the left side - they really won’t matter, the marrow will though.

Go chase the day my friends, through the wind, against the tide. Stare out and dream. Don’t think too much or too long, you’ll miss the set wave.

Happy Little Friday, Slainte.

Poem of the Week

Truth is the master of the universe

Surrender to your surroundings and the cup fills

Stay with the dream

Don’t be afraid to change the course

The life around you is the key to real

Triple needle seams will someday be freedom

From resilience comes integrity

I am outlier You are too.
