TAKE ME ON A RIDE

As Curated by

Trevor Boone

Vintage Hunter and Owner of Emerald City Guitars

01 What's keeping me grounded

You can't control a lot, but what you can, I try to really honor. I start the day with some type of movement whether it's boxing, running, or cycling I use it as my quick therapy session. My 1 year old girl keeps me selfless and my wife has always been my rock. The home and family I create are what really keep self-reflection on the forefront and keep me on the right track.

Going through vintage guitar stores or thumbing through racks of clothing or looking at old cameras — it all takes me somewhere. That’s what led me really into chasing the stories behind the guitars and amps I find.

I’ve been up to running and perfecting my brick and mortar storefront and developing our YouTube channel. Emerald City Guitars is a well-oiled machine with the most amazing staff perfectly tailored to our mission, and our YouTube channel serves as a demo for vintage equipment and special episodes where we chase guitars worldwide and dive into the history and human element behind them. The GuitarV episodes are their own thing and give you a taste of the circus that is vintage guitar hunting

Those trips are about 2 weeks long, and we squeeze it down to a 18 minute video. Pure entertainment. Zero direction. haha.

02 Quote of the week

"No good deed has gone unpunished."

No good deed has gone unpunished. Some of my biggest work headaches have been when you go out of your way for someone and the person just doesn't get or see that. I'll still always strive to go over and beyond for folks but it's been a reminder to set boundaries.

03 What I'm drinking

Topo Chico with fresh lime.

04 What I'm up to, health-wise

Health is always at the forefront for me. Again, it's just something I can control or TRY to control at least. I start every day with movement whether it's boxing, running, cycling, or weights, and really try to eat well. I'm on the road quite often and I make sure to bring workout clothes and have some type of diet plan. When we do the GuitarV videos which are sometimes 2+ weeks it's essential for a quick comeback for me so I can be a good father/husband /business owner. I spent so many years eating whatever was cheap and quick and it made coming back a lot harder so now we cook every meal on the GuitarV oftentimes joined by musicians and artists of every caliber and walk of life. Breaking bread has become a really special part of the trips. Moving my body and being thoughtful of the food I eat has had a profound effect on every aspect of my life.
